This design is our statement to honour the National Day of Reconciliation, hope and commitment to a better future for our children and communities.
September 30th Is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation observed yearly in Canada and the United States. This day commemorates the experiences and journeys of residential school survivors and their families and to commit to the continuing process of reconciliation.
The design is also a symbol of solidarity and recognizes the many losses experienced by Indigenous communities over several generations. This loss includes the loss of family and culture, language and freedom. It also represents hope to a better future, healing and reconciliation. Our children are sacred.
